We are looking for a highly organised and detail-oriented Buying Assistant to support our Camping, Fishing & Auto category. Working closely with the Buyer, suppliers and key stakeholders across the business, you'll play an important role in bringing great products to our customers by helping to keep product information, promotions and merchandising processes running smoothly.

 

You'll gain exposure to the end-to-end buying cycle while developing your career in a fast-paced retail environment. From coordinating product information and advertising activity through to managing merchandise samples, you'll be at the heart of supporting the category's day-to-day success.


What you’ll be doing

 

  • Providing administrative support to the Buyer across the Camping, Fishing & Auto category.
  • Maintaining accurate product information, keycode registrations and buying plans.
  • Following up supplier queries to support the smooth flow of merchandise.
  • Coordinating merchandise samples, including requesting, tracking, organising and maintaining the sample room.
  • Supporting the organisation and movement of merchandise samples, including some larger and bulkier Camping, Fishing & Auto products.
  • Ensuring merchandise samples are processed through quality control and submitted to Marketing and other stakeholders within required timeframes.
  • Supporting advertising activity through the submission of documentation, maintenance of systems and coordination of advertising samples.
  • Liaising with suppliers, stores and internal stakeholders to resolve merchandise queries.
     

To be successful in this role you’ll have:

  • Previous administration, coordination or data entry experience, ideally within a retail environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Well-developed problem-solving skills and the ability to investigate and resolve issues.
  • A proactive and collaborative approach to working within a fast-paced team environment.
  • Confidence managing merchandise samples and supporting sample room organisation.
  • The ability to safely handle and move product samples, including some larger or bulkier items.
