Position: Regional QA Manager

Department: General Merchandise Quality

 

Position Scope:

1. Quality Operation Management

- Oversee Regional teams (e.g. QA teams from different locations/continents, or more than 3 RBUs) to deliver predefined goals within budget.

- Ensure teams adherence to company and functional policies and SOPs

- Ensure consistence execution of improvement initiatives across teams/locations/continents to deliver improvement of customer satisfaction, substantial cost avoidance and productivity improvement.

- Oversee supplier base quality performance management

- Represent quality function/departments and business in various business forums including LT reviews.

- Ensure consistence execution of Preventive Quality Model across teams/locations/continents through all processes, provide guidance for teams/team leaders to deliver right quality product with lowest prices by considering both product requirement and production control.

- Setup process or tools, provide guidance and support to teams/team leaders to drive supplier or factory improvement in order to provide right quality product at lowest prices.

 

2. Functional Strategic Planning and Execution

- Interpret and understand Company Strategy.

-  Support development of quality divisional strategies and roadmap while keep it in line with company overall strategy and leadership alignment.

- Lead the execution of divisional strategic and business improvement projects. (e.g. as product owner or lead the workstreams)

- Develop and continuously improve processes to drive results efficiently and effectively.

- Lead change management.

- Participate and contribute to other GM functional strategic planning and projects to deliver overall company goals.

 

3. Supplier Base Engagement and Management

- Ensure supplier base quality performance continuous improvement by derive country/product/production based strategy or tactics.

- Engage with Strategic and selective Core suppliers to assess, build & improve their QA capabilities under the Supplier Engagement framework.

 

4. People Management

- Develop high performing teams, recognise & reward high performance while manage underperforming team members.

- Effective recruitment and selection.

- Drive team member's career development and capability improvement.

- Facilitate culture changes and people practices to align to company.

5. Leading Technical Consistency across regions under GDL model

- Ensure direct reports conduct gap analysis of PT, suppliers/factories and 3rd-party laboratory cross region. Ensure actions will be taken to fill the gap.

- Ensure technical documents under his/her portfolio are up-to-date and align knowledge/understanding across regions/continents, including emerging and diversified market by program/process of sharing/coaching/calibration

- Communicate with leader of local PT in other regions in emerging market by lead the PQM activities and post-sales quality activities.

- Work with local leader, derive tactical solution or strategy to build up capability of local teams base on short- and long-term business need.

 

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Quality Management, or a related discipline.
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience in quality assurance, quality management, manufacturing, sourcing, or retail, preferably with exposure to global markets or international brands.
  • At least five years of people leadership experience, with a demonstrated ability to manage managers or multi-location teams and deliver results through others.
  • Substantial experience working with suppliers, vendors, factories, third-party laboratories, and geographically dispersed quality teams.
  • Proven experience developing and implementing quality strategies, improvement initiatives, and change programs across multiple regions or markets. 

Technical Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong knowledge of quality engineering principles, quality assurance frameworks, and product quality management.
  • Sound understanding of factory manufacturing practices, production processes, quality controls, and supplier quality management.
  • Strong working knowledge of applicable product standards, legislation, regulatory requirements, and testing requirements.
  • Proficiency in quality management tools, preventive quality models, root-cause analysis, corrective action planning, performance metrics, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Ability to establish and maintain consistent technical standards, documentation, processes, and quality practices across different locations and regions.
