We are seeking a Supervisor – Product Technologist to join our Quality (QA) – Apparel team, overseeing Men’s, Women’s, and Children’s categories. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all products meet our quality, fit, safety, and mandatory compliance standards. This role may also include managing a small team of 3–4 employees. The Supervisor will primarily focus on guiding the design, implementation, and execution of processes, programs, and policies, applying specialised technical expertise and experience gained through advanced education and industry practice.

 

What will you do?

 

Quality Management - Evaluate design samples, QA samples, and customer contract samples against established standards to ensure all products meet Target Quality Standards. Approve and conduct risk assessments on samples in line with Target requirements and the critical path. Provide technical guidance to subordinates, merchandising, design, and buying teams regarding product quality, sample execution, and fit-related issues. Develop technical packs (Tech Packs) according to design requirements when needed.

 

Supplier Management - Communicate with suppliers on all development (if needed) and production technical issues to ensure products are produced in accordance with Target quality standards. Provide technical training and on-going coaching to vendors/factories for meeting product and manufacturing requirements and continuous performance improvement. Deliver technical and quality induction to suppliers to train them on Target’s quality and technical requirements.

 

Leadership & People Management - Lead the functional team by demonstrating strong leadership and fostering a positive, collaborative work culture. Guide, coach, and support team members to enhance capability and performance. Oversee the design, implementation, and delivery of processes, programs, and policies, applying specialised technical knowledge and experience gained through education and practice. Manage processes and programs and may guide or supervise lower-level professionals.

 

Communication & People Management - The role is a key collaborator between buying, quality and sourcing team and requires great communication and interpersonal skills. The Supervisor is responsible for ensuring strong collaboration with suppliers and buying teams alike. The Supervisor must seek to resolve all escalated issues, or seek timely guidance form the Regional Product Technology Manager.

 

 

What are we looking for?

 

  • Higher Diploma or above in related technical disciplines
  • Minimum 3-5 years relevant working experience in supervisor position and total 8-10 years’ solid experience in QA role in a buying office. 
  • Exercise initiative, discretion and judgement at times in the performance of duties able to train other team members or have direct reports.
  • Good knowledge in pattern making, fit, garment construction, manufacturing process.
  • Possess experience of sample evaluation, live model and mannequin fit evaluation
  • Experience of working directly with designers and buyers preferred.
  • Knowledge in both development and production
  • Strong verbal and written English and local language
  • Proficiency in IT skills especially in the use of MS-Office applications
