Team name: Merchandise & Supply Chain

Merchandise & Supply Chain provides capability of IT product development for Sourcing, Merchandizing, and Inventory functions of the Kmart Group's Retail business. The team generates insights that enables business teams to make critical decisions.

Primary Purpose of the role

  • To support the delivery function by designing, developing and communicating architectural models, processes, tools and standards as they relate to the technology delivery domain
  • Working collaboratively with the Architecture function as well as key stakeholders and teams across the business, to deliver technology solutions that meet business objectives in an iterative, cost-effective, and innovative manner through architecture that enables continuous, at speed change.
  • Defines and regularly updates the future architecture, tracks and limits technical debt and contributes to the relevant solutions.
  • Contributes to the Technology strategy. Develops architectural models, processes, tools and standards for the domain and ensures compliance to the Technology strategy and architectural principals ensures architectural debt, risks and issues are owned and registered Participates in Retrospectives and Post Implementation Reviews (PIRs)Participation in architectural Governance processes (ARB, Design Forums, stand ups)

Work Experience

  • Leading the design and adherence (to) of the architecture operating model
  • Practiced in identifying, validating (through POC) and promoting emerging technologies.
  • Leading consultation with business stakeholders, technologists, and vendors
  • Experience assessing solutions and vendors through stages of RFx
  • Experience in defining and translating data dictionary, metadata and data models.
  • Experience in modern delivery practices and modern architectural and engineering concepts.
  • Experience in a retail environment.

Technical Skills

  • Strong ability to implement modelling tools.
  • Ability to identify and assess development options and technology risks.
  • Ability to conduct analysis of COTS products and technologies.
  • Understanding of modern tech and how it can support business objectives.
  • Ability to translate business needs, to technical solutions, considering risk and impacts.
  • Strong software engineering skills
