The Data & Analytics team exists to drive competitive advantage through best-in-class data, analytics, and insights for the Kmart group. This team comprises of 75 members globally – bulk of them based out of India. The team in India was set up in July 2019 with 10 members and has grown considerably over the last 2 years. Our teams are embedded within each business function and work on strategic projects such as customer engagement, supply chain transformation, product quality etc  across the Kmart group. We are paving the way to bringing in a data culture in the wider organization and we get to see this impact in the form of improved sales, cost savings and customer satisfaction. Everyday is a new learning. We use the latest cloud platform tools, data engineering practices and data science methods to achieve our goals.

What you’ll be doing  

  • Design, build and maintain scalable and resilient data pipelines and infrastructure
  • Optimize data flow and collection for cross-functional teams at Kmart Group
  • Collabrate with Data Scientists, analysts and other stakeholders to ensure data accuracy and reliablity
  • Implement data goverance policies and procedures
  • build and maintain data dictionaries, metadata repositories and other documentation
  • Identify areas for process improvement and implement solutions
  • Stay uptodate with emerging trends and technologies in data engineering

Technical Skills

  • AWS - S3,IAM, API Gateway, EKS,EC@, EMR, Lamda, Cloud Formation Etc.
  • SQL - Snowflake or other cloud Data warehouse solutions, Oracle, MS SQL Server
  • Python, Java, Scala
  • Kafka, Kafka Streams, KSQLDB, Kafka Connect Preferrably confluent Kafka
  • Docker, Kubernetes, Jnekins, Airflow
  • Power BI

 

Traits/ Abilites

  • Strong Problem-Solving Skills
  • Excellent Analytical Abilites
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java and SQL
  • Knowledge of bigdata technologies such as Hadoop, Spark and NoSQL Data bases
  • Experience with data modelling and database design
  • Ability to design and implement data pipelines and ETL Processes
  • Understanding of data warehousing concpets and best practices
  • Familiarity with cloud formation platforms such as AWS, Azure or GCP
  • Strong Communication and collabration skills as senior data engineers often work with cross-functional teams

 

Work Expereince

 

  • 5 to 7 years of total IT experince preferably in field of Data engineering, ELT/ETL paradigm
  • 3+ years of expereince woith AWS services susch as IAM, API Gateway, EC2, S3, EMR, Lamda, EKS etc.
  • 2+ years of experience in creating and deploying docker containers on kubernetes
  • 2+ years of expereince with CI/CD pipelines tools such as Jenkins and Github Actions
  • 2+ years of expereince with Snowflake data warehousing and data lake solutions
  • Strong programming skills with Python, Java, Scala
  • Very Strong Expereince with SQL and No SQL data bases
  • Knowledge of data modelling and database design principles
  • Familiarity with data structures and data governance 
  • Knoweldge of Agile methodologies and SDLC
